Notice of software retirement (AVS/Express)

The software site licence for AVS/Express, a scientific visualization program, is to expire on 30 June 2012.
After working with the user community, we believe that this software is no longer needed and therefore do not intend to renew the licence.
What will the consequences of this be?
The software will cease to work after 30 June 2012.
Do I need to take any action?
If you have an installation of AVS, please uninstall the software on or shortly after 30 June. IT Services will remove it from managed facilities such as the staff and student desktop.
What if I need to keep using this software?
Although we have worked hard to identify any instances where this software is still in use, it is possible that we have missed you. If you use and need to continue to use this software after 30 June 2012, please contact us to discuss your options using the following address:
