On Tuesdays (12pm – 1pm) in UMSA Activities Room, Dover Street Building from 10 January 2012.

All equipment supplied. ₤4/£4.50. Suitable for all levels.

The teacher, Karon Mee, is treating this as an experimental yoga class in which practices will be explored in detail and depth. These practices may be asana, pranayama, bandhas etc. Students are welcome to suggest practices they wish to work on.

From 1pm to 1.30pm the class will focus on pranayama, meditation, etc. Students are welcome to attend only this part of the class.

About the teacher - Karon Mee (BWY Dip TPOT)

In 1994 she took her first yoga class while living in San Francisco. Life was never the same again.

Her teaching is a direct reflection of an attitude of experimentation within her own practice and from her education by the outstanding teachers who have shared their knowledge. Her own physical practice changes all the time but tends to focus on the breath, intuitive and joyful movement, mindfulness, metta bhavana (loving kindness), listening without judgement, and honouring life. She enjoys practicing and teaching to music and mantra, and with practice the asana becomes a dance all of its own.

She has learnt from and practiced with many inspirational teachers in a wide variety of ‘styles’ (yoga is just yoga isn’t it?). These include Donna Farhi, Muz Murray, Dharam Singh Khalsa, Swami Pragyamurti, Peter Blackaby, Matthew Sweeney, Christine Howitt and of course those whom she consider initiated her into this beautiful way of being: Gillian Burgess, and Jenny Boam.

Come and enjoy. Bring your natural curiousity and an open mind.
