Exploring Mindfulness

11 Nov 2011

A day of practice on 26 November in the Wellbeing Room, Dover Street Building.

Teacher: Jake Dartington (associated with Gaia House in Devon)

The day is supported by The University of Manchester Counselling Service

There is a great deal of interest now about mindfulness: the practice of mindfulness has been shown to exert a powerful influence on our health, well-being and happiness and there is significant scientific or medical evidence available now confirming this. However, because it is practice rather than being just a good idea, it does take time to cultivate the practice. It's very helpful to have good guidance along the path and this day of practice offers an introduction and guidance with a leading teacher.

The retreat is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience of meditation practice. Guidance will be given, and there will be talks as well as the opportunity to ask questions.
