Knit a galaxy for the Manchester Science Festival

15 Sep 2011

Calling all knitters: as part of the Manchester Science Festival, The University of Manchester In Stitches group is attempting to knit a Hubble Telescope image of a rose made up of galaxies.

If you’d like to find out more or take away a section to knit, come along to The Manchester Museum for a knit and natter. You’ll have an opportunity to find out more about meteorites and roses and meet some fellow knitters:

  • Friday 16 September, 12noon-2pm
  • Saturday 24 September, 2-4pm
  • Tuesday 27 September, 12noon-2pm

Free - no need to book.

The finished knitted masterpiece will be on display in the Stitch a solar system event on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October as part of the Manchester Science Festival:
