The Manchester Graduate Internship Programme (MGIP)

09 Sep 2011

Have you heard how MGIP can help your staffing needs?

MGIP

The MLP, Careers & Employability Division’s Manchester Graduate Internship Programme (MGIP) continues to respond to a growing demand from our graduates seeking to stay in Manchester to start their careers.

Whilst MGIP works with a variety of organisations and businesses to identify internships for our graduates, the University has also been an important supporter of the programme over the last four years. Here’s your opportunity to get involved if you have short-term vacancies to fill. MGIP internships within the University can last between 4 and 12 months and can start any time from now through to January. All positions and salaries must be agreed with local HR managers.

Key benefits to University colleagues include:

  • a flexible option for covering temporary positions;
  • the opportunity to draw on the knowledge of someone who has experience of our University but can bring new perspectives, insights and ideas;
  • full support with the recruitment process provided by the MGIP Team;
  • all MGIP graduates are provided with mentoring and career development training during their internship.

Colleagues from Schools, Faculties and Institutes have found MGIP offers an ideal solution to recruitment and resourcing needs. Last year’s internships included a variety of administration, student support and marketing roles.

MGIP very much supports and improves the employability of our graduates by providing them with access to vital work experience and the opportunity to develop key skills.
