Proud to support Manchester Pride

The University of Manchester is supporting this year’s Manchester Pride celebrations through a number of activities organised by the University’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Staff Network group.

The University is supporting Manchester Pride 2011

The University will have a stand at the Whitworth Street entrance to the Sackville Street Building during the Pride Parade on Saturday, 27 August. Sackville Street Building will also be flying the Rainbow Flag – the international symbol of the gay pride movement – and displaying a banner of support for the 21st Manchester Pride festival throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The University is also hosting other events in and around campus in the week leading up to Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend.

And to mark the end of Manchester Pride there will be a firework display from the Sackville Street Building on Monday, 29 August.
