EPSRC Knowledge Transfer Account: Final Call for Applications

09 Aug 2011

Applications must be submitted by 5 October 2011 at 12 noon

The EPSRC Knowledge Transfer Account (KTA) offers a comprehensive portfolio of flexible support mechanisms designed for EPSRC researchers to overcome barriers as they arise in all of the possible routes to exploitation and application of their EPSRC research base.
The Manchester KTA has seen eight calls for proposals since its start in October 2009.

The University’s KTA Operations Board is pleased to announce the 9th and final call for proposals for funding under the following mechanisms:

  • Exploitation Secondment Scheme
  • Exploration Secondment Scheme
  • Concept Development and Feasibility Study Scheme

The closing date for applications to this final call is 5 October 2011 at 12pm (noon).

Applications will be assessed on a competitive basis by the University’s Knowledge Transfer Schemes Panel. In this funding round, the panel expect to fund multiple proposals across all project schemes.

Academics are eligible to apply for funding from the KTA if they hold a current or closed EPSRC grant, provided the proposed project will support the application or exploitation of their EPSRC-funded research.

Further information about the different KTA schemes, guidance notes and application forms are available online at:

Please note that guidance notes and application forms are regularly updated; please download the latest versions from the website.

Prior to submitting a full application, academics are strongly advised to provide an Expression of Interest form (attached) by Friday 2 September, to enable sufficient prioritisation of KT Team support in developing the full proposal.

Proposals will be accepted for Panel review without previous submission of EoI form. In those instances, you are strongly advised to contact a member of the KT Team for advice and guidance as soon as possible at:

There is an ongoing and regular application process for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
