How does the Earth resemble a discoball?

19 Jul 2011

Find out in the latest atmospheric science podcast

Students and researchers from the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences have put together a new podcast looking at how our Earth is really like a giant discoball – reflecting incoming sunlight back into space.

Our climate and weather is driven by how much light and radiation is reflected - and how much is absorbed. There’s also an interview with the School’s very own aerosol guru Professor Hugh Coe.

This is just the latest in The Barometer series which explores the world of weather, climate and pollution.
