Residential Pastoral Advisors

Applications are invited from academic, academic related or research staff or postgraduate students of The University of Manchester for Residential Pastoral Advisor posts which are available in various residences throughout the University residential campus areas for the 2011-2012 academic session

Residential Pastoral Advisors work as part of the welfare support team in each residence.  Duties include assisting in the pastoral  care of residents, working with the Residents Association and helping to foster a community spirit.  Residential Pastoral Advisors will be required to be on call during the night and at weekends on a rota basis with other colleagues.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a genuine/active interest in student affairs; individuals must be approachable and sociable, and of a socially responsible disposition, being able to demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills and an aptitude for team-working and group leadership.

Currently remuneration is given to Residential Pastoral Advisors in the form of free accommodation.  Residential Pastoral Advisors residing in catered halls are expected to pay for the meal charges applicable for their hall of residence.
