Opportunities to host Japanese volunteers

25 Jan 2011

Could you offer a work placement to a Japanese student?

The Japan Centre at the University Language Centre is recruiting potential host organisations that would be willing to accept a Japanese student from a university in Japan for four or eight weeks. If your organisation deals with Japan or may do so in the future, or even if you need some extra help in the office, then a Japanese volunteer could prove invaluable from a business, cultural and personal level.

The English Language Study with Work Experience Programme runs three times a year in Spring, Summer and Autumn. The students study English for up to nine weeks at The University of Manchester’s Language Centre, followed by an unpaid work placement of four weeks starting in March, June or November or eight weeks starting at the end of October. The students have a Tier4 student visa which allows them to work in the UK for a limited amount of time as a part of the English Study programme.

We welcome applications from organisations of any size and in any sector.
