Professor Bob Hahn steps down as Director of Sustainable Consumption Institute

Professor Alistair Ulph will take over as acting Director

Professor Bob Hahn will be stepping down as Director of the Sustainable Consumption Institute at Manchester in order to focus on research at the University. Professor Alistair Ulph will take over as acting Director.

Together, Professors Hahn and Ulph will be editing a new book on climate change policy in honour of Nobel Laureate Tom Schelling which will be published by Oxford University Press.

Professor Hahn said "It has been an honour and a privilege to work with the senior leadership at Manchester and Tesco on taking the SCI to the next level.

"I am especially grateful to the late Professor Alan Gilbert (former President and Vice Chancellor), to Sir Terry Leahy of Tesco and to the President and Vice Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell for their leadership and intellectual vision".

Professor Dame Rothwell said "The SCI has benefited greatly from Bob Hahn's deep understanding of environmental regulation and how top-flight research can also inform policy making in business and government".
