LiveLearning: Public Engagement Training for early-career researchers

Applications invited by Friday 14 January

Applications are open for this AHRC-funded programme, run by UCLAN and MMU, that will develop the competencies needed for effective public engagement and outreach. Workshops are available in:

  • Publicity
  • Understanding Your Audience
  • Event Evaluation
  • Securing External Funding for Public Engagement Events
  • Communication Skills

You will also have the opportunity to complete a live public engagement project working with local communities to explore memories and anecdotes, and contribute to an exhibition of works inspired by these.

FAQs

Am I eligible?
You need to be either enrolled on a PhD or within three years of completion.

Do I need to be in receipt of AHRC funding?
No, although priority will be given to AHRC students. Your research must be within Arts/Humanities discipline areas.

Where will training take place?
All sessions will take place on UCLan's Preston campus, and are free of charge with refreshments provided.

How long will the programme last?
The final exhibition of the live project is planned for Spring 2012.
