Great wine-tasting at Tabley House!

08 Oct 2010

Compare Old and New World wines on 20 October

On Wednesday 20 October the Tabley Friends have organised a mouth-watering wine-tasting, which will be led by Jon Campbell, from DeFINE Wine in Sandiway.

Jon established DeFINE 10 years ago and now has a reputation as one of the leading independent wine merchants in the land.

Jon will share some of his latest discoveries at the wine-tasting by comparing contrasting examples from the “Old” and “New” Worlds. Ever wondered why French Sancerre tastes so different from New Zealand Sauvignon when they’re made from the same grape? Do you think you could tell which was which?

Most importantly, he aims to show off some good (and good value) wines. It may even not be too early to spark ideas about good wine for Christmas – which will be only be a few weeks away!

The wine-tasting will take place in the Portico Room of the House and will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 (Friends) and £17 (guests). As usual, all the proceeds from the event will go towards the Friends’ next project - the re-furbishing of the House’s Chapel.
