Open meeting for staff involved in undergraduate education

21 Sep 2010

Session looking at ‘Fair Admissions and Contextual Data’

All teaching and support staff involved in undergraduate education are invited to a briefing event to find out more about some changes being introduced into the 2010/11 admissions cycle.

The changes relate to ‘Fair Admissions and Contextual Data’ to allow the better identification of talented students from all educational backgrounds.

The University is rolling out a comprehensive new system of ‘contextual data’ indicators, whereby information on the educational and social background of applicants will accompany standard information on the UCAS form for all UK applicants.

The session will give information about why these changes have been made as well as practical examples of how they will be used and the benefits they offer to admissions decision makers.

The session will be taking place on Thursday 7 October between 1pm and 2pm in room G19 of the Mansfield Cooper Building.

If you would like to attend this open briefing session then please contact Alison Charles, Undergraduate Admissions Manager a.charles@manchester.ac.uk or telephone 64033.
