21 Sep 2010

BBC's Gordon Burns to officially open the event this Sunday

University staff, their family and friends are invited to attend a special open day at Wythenshawe Hospital this weekend.

The event, on Sunday 26 September, is being opened by  BBC TV presenter Gordon Burns and will feature more than 70 stalls and stands, behind-the-scenes tours of the hospital and an open-air market.

There’s also the chance to have a look inside an ambulance and fire engine as well as getting free health advice from nursing and clinical experts. And for the younger visitor there’s a balloon artist, face painter and free fairground rides.

Entertainment will also be provided by the ‘Jazzie Js’ dance troupe and local schools plus music from the Sale Male Voice Choir and the Ashton-on-Mersey Showband.

All the fun starts at 11.15am in the main car park at Wythenshawe Hospital.
