This academic year we have a great host of new courses aimed at getting you active!

NEW - timetable of Health and Fitness classes is available to view online:

NEW – ONLINE booking and payment for the Wellbeing Room and Sackville Street enrolment courses. We are pleased to announce the launch of this new service from SPORT designed to make it easier for you to book and pay.

Visit:

NEW - 30 minute lunchtime sessions aimed at getting staff active in their lunch breaks. Choose between Mobilise & Stretch and Abs, Bums & Backs at the Wellbeing Room for just £15 for eight sessions.

NEW – courses aimed at putting fun into fitness including hula hoop fitness, burlesque dance and beginner’s pole dance at various locations around campus.

Ladies, we need you!

Fancy playing sport in a social environment?
Fancy taking up a new sport or getting back into a sport you use to play?
Fancy meeting a great bunch of ladies from around the University?
Fancy taking part in regular exercise?

If you do, then join our team!

StaffNet is a staff netball squad, comprising three teams. We have back-to-netball team training sessions for complete beginners or people who haven’t played in a while and want to get back into it. We also have a beginners' team for those who want to play regular matches and an intermediate team for those who have played netball recently. Both teams play on a Wednesday afternoon at the Sugden Sports Centre.

How to take part

Training sessions are held at The Sugden Sports Centre on Friday at 12.30on so if you fancy coming along and checking it out, then we’d love to see you there! Or for details of how to register, email:

Get the party started at Zumbafest!

ZUMBAFEST charity dance/fitness workout on Saturday 25 September 2010 from 10.30am-12.30pm at the Armitage Centre, Fallowfield. Tickets are £4 and all proceeds go to Francis House Children’s Hospice. Tickets are available at the Armitage Centre or from Sport Head Office.

Osteoporosis Testing at the Wellbeing Room

The Sports Directorate will be hosting a day of bone density screening. We are pleased to offer you this test at the reduced rate of £27 (normal prices range from £37.50 to £50 depending on the company). Payments will be made on the day by cash or cheque only.

Tests will be conducted on Tuesday 26 October in the small room opposite the Well-being Room in the Dover Street Building on Dover Street.
