Open Day 2010 at Wythenshawe Hospital

13 Sep 2010

A fun day out for all the family on 26 September

Popular BBC presenter Gordon Burns is to officially open UHSM's Annual Open Day, as Wythenshawe Hospital expects to welcome more than 2,000 visitors on Sunday 26 September 2010.

The event will not only showcase the work of the busy hospital and the community it serves, but will provide a free, fun day out for all the family.

A giant marquee will be pitched on the main entrance car park, and will house more than 70 stalls and stands manned by Trust staff and external partners and organisations. Outside there will be a farmers' market selling fresh home grown produce and local crafts. Activities will include behind-the-scenes tours running every hour; the chance to look inside an ambulance and fire engine; and free health advice from Trust experts.

The day will also provide fun and entertainment with performances from among others dance troupes the Jazzy Js and the Tudor Rosettes and music from the Sale Male Voice Choir and the Ashton-on-Mersey Showband. A face painter and balloon artist will provide more fun while every child can receive a free ice-cream and enjoy free fairground rides.

The event will run from 11am until 3pm, and will be followed by the Trust's Annual Members' Meeting for members and Governors.
