The CARBON CYCLE Project

16 Jun 2010

Presentation on 18 June for ALL road users - not just cyclists

This innovative new scheme funded by MCC and delivered by BikeRight! is aiming to reduce the carbon emissions of participants by increasing cycling levels:

Following the 'road show' launch at the annual cycling event (16 June, University Place), the next stage is a presentation on campus.

The presentation will take place on Friday 18 June at 12.30pm in Room 5.209, University Place. If you plan to come, please book by contacting:

The Carbon Cycle Presentation - BikeRight!'s description

BikeRight! will also deliver a presentation to employees, which will discuss our transport needs and address the key concerns of cycling in an urban environment. The presentation is aimed at all staff and we are looking for as many interested individuals to attend as possible.

Individuals have different needs and cycling to work may not be an option for everyone.

The nature of some jobs or the distances commuted can mean cycling is not always practical. However, the presentation will aim to promote the fact that cycling is generally a very quick and inexpensive mode of transport that can easily fit into many people’s daily routine.

Some people may assume that cycling is not for them and that there is a difference between ‘cyclists’ and themselves. We’re hoping to address these assumptions and encourage people to see that you don’t have to dress head-to-toe in Lycra and become a ‘cyclist’ - cycling to work is actually something that the average person can do with very few changes to their lifestyle.
