Tabley Friends’ Triple-Bill Trip!

28 Apr 2010

Coach trip to Tissington Hall on 13 May

Tissington well dressing

Thursday 13 May sees a great triple-bill of a trip when the Friends of Tabley take a coach trip to Tissington Hall, near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. This stunning Jacobean manor house has been the home of the Fitzherbert family for over 500 years.

Firstly, there will be a guided tour of the house, with an opportunity to visit the gardens afterwards.

Secondly, the trip has been planned to coincide with the very first day of the traditional Well Dressing Festival of the village’s six wells (one of these is pictured).

Finally, for the energetic, there is the opportunity to walk some of the Tissington Trail, with wonderful views of the Peak District.

Lunch will be taken at Tissington’s Bluebell Inn and Restaurant - and is included in the price.

The coach will depart from Tabley House car park at 9.15am and return at approximately 5.30pm.

Tickets cost:

  • £26 for Friends
  • £29 for Guests

They are available from:

  • Anna Smyth on 01565 651979

All proceeds will go towards the restoration of the interior of the chapel at Tabley House.
