BBC Radio 3 talk begins at 6pm, concert begins at 7.30pm
The Martin Harris Centre will be hosting a special recording of ‘Discovering Music’ for BBC Radio 3.
‘Discovering Music’ takes well known pieces of music and analyses their construction, background and influences; the musical examples are then played by live performers. The session ends with a complete performance of the work studied. On this occasion, Taneyev’s Piano Quintet will be analysed and discussed by Stephen Johnson with David Fanning and the Quatuor Danel.
The event concludes with an evening concert by The University of Manchester's internationally renowned resident string quartet, Quatuor Danel.
Admission price:
- Pre-concert talk at 6pm is FREE
- Admission to the concert at 7.30pm is £12 / £8 / £3
