Download online enrolment form or enrol in person at open days

The Confucius Institute is pleased to announce that our popular Chinese evening language and cultural courses will be taking place again in the autumn term.

We are offering 10-week language courses beginning during the week of 5 October, with Confidence Chinese courses covering speaking skills only and the Step series concentrating on reading, writing, speaking and listening.

For detailed information visit the language page of the Confucius Institute website:

Our Chinese brush painting course is also starting again on 14 October, for seven weeks. Learn about the history and culture of Chinese brush painting, and get an understanding of various brushstrokes and colouring methods.

Chinese Calligraphy will be starting on 22 October, running for seven weeks. These classes will explain the basic strokes of Chinese writing and help students to construct Chinese characters.

No prior knowledge of Chinese is required for our cultural courses – why not enrol and make something beautiful to decorate your home or office!

For detailed course descriptions please see the cultural section of the Confucius Institute website:

If you wish to apply for any of the courses please complete an enrolment form, available through following the 'How to enrol' link on the left of the website. Then please submit either cash, a cheque or a completed card payment form (also available from the website) to Emily Birch at the Confucius Institute. Details of prices can be found under the class description pages.

The Confucius Institute will be holding open days from 4.30pm to 6pm on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 September, in the South wing foyer in the Samuel Alexander building. Staff will be available to answer any questions on our courses, and you can enrol in person.
