  • Would you like something for free?
  • Are you a cyclist?
  • Do you use your bike to come to work?

As a response to the problem of cycle theft the University has introduced a system of overt marking for bikes. This uses a compound to permanently etch a unique number into the framework of the bike. This number can be easily seen by our Security Patrols and the Police and can be checked on locally held and national databases.

We have already had one event but are looking to expand the scheme further. The plan is to identify potential users within buildings and then arrange a convenient time and date to register the bikes.

In order to do this, we need people to register their interest by sending the information requested below in an email to:

Ian is the Crime Reduction Advisor for the University and he will co-ordinate the initiative.
