Theatre productions, new premises and re-launch event

The following theatre productions have now been booked for UMSA members:

  • Dinner Ladies (8 September 2009)
  • Blood Brothers (13 October 2009)
  • Aladdin Pantomime (19 December 2009)
  • Les Miserables (27 January 2010)

There are also still tickets available for:

  • Disney on Ice, Princess Wishes (4 October 2009)

UMSA is also pleased to announce the opening of the new UMSA Staff House and Activities Room.

The new location is:

  • 1st Floor, Dover Street Building (Old Wing), Dover Street, M13 9PL (next to Jabez Clegg)

The new rooms will be open from Tuesday 11 August 2009 for all the UMSA lunchtime activities and for use by members.

The Staff House consists of lounge area, with 40" TV (with FreeSat), pool table and darts board. There are also vending machines on site.

The adjoining Activities Room has a large dance floor with surrounding Carpet Area and Audio/Visual equipment.

The classes currently running are Salsa Dance, Belly Dancing, Pilates and Yoga. There is also a Street Dance class which will be starting shortly (please see eUpdate and UMSA for date).

Access to both rooms is swipe card, using your Staff Card (UMSA members only have been given access via this system).

UMSA are also planning a Re-Launch event on Thursday 10 September 2009 between 12 noon and 2pm. ALL staff are invited to come along and view the new facilities which UMSA has provided for its members.

There will also be:

  • Details of what UMSA has been up to in the past few years, view pictures of events and outings.
  • Details of all UMSA events planned for the remainder of 2009.
  • Details of classes, where teachers will be on hand to discuss their particular class.
  • The opportunity to let us know what you want from UMSA - why not join the committee!

There will be a light lunch served on the day for all attendees so if you plan to come along:

The UMSA committee has worked hard to get the new facilities up and running, so please show your support, ALL STAFF are welcome.

And finally congratulations to Jonny Crook from the e-Learning Team, Ellen Wilkinson Building, who won the UMSA logo competition.
