Andy rides coast-to-coast for The Christie

07 Aug 2009

Raising funds and awareness for testicular cancer

Andy Timming, Lecturer in HRM at Manchester Business School, is undertaking a 215 mile coast-to-coast ride across England in September to raise money for cancer research at The Christie.

Andy will cycle from Southport to Hornsea along the Trans Pennine Trail to honour the positive attitude of his friend, who is currently being treated at The Christie. Last year, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and the disease has now spread to his spinal cord.

Andy is training hard so that he can tackle this epic journey with the same kind of determination his friend and countless other survivors such as Lance Armstrong, show on a daily basis.

This is your opportunity to play a small part in the fight against cancer. Unfortunately, one in three of us will be affected directly by this disease, and all of us are affected indirectly through loved ones who are diagnosed.

If you recognize that Andy's friend's fight is also your fight, then please sponsor his journey. Every last penny of the money raised will go to further cancer research at The Christie.

You can donate through Andy's charity website:

A reminder for all you men out there: examine your testicles at least once a month to detect any change in size, shape or feel.
