Sponsor 'The Middle-Aged Mafia' on Trailwalker challenge

30 Jun 2009

Four people, one goal, 100 kilometres, 24 hours

Mike Shore-Nye, Director of STARS, is undertaking a challenging long-distance walk with a team of old University and work friends known as 'The Middle-Aged Mafia'.

On 18-19 July, they will be amongst 530 teams attempting the 24 hour, 100km Trailwalker challenge across the South Downs to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. It’s one of 11 Trailwalker challenges worldwide.

Training has included a 20 mile walk each Saturday for the past two months, plus regular 5km runs on the dreaded treadmill.

The team has raised around £5000 so far but still needs help in hitting its £6500 target for this worthy cause.
