Want to play some cricket this summer?

27 May 2009

Please note change of date for meeting!

Aimed at all University staff members, however long it is since you last padded up, practiced your wrist-spin or even sat in a cricket ground. We're looking for keen amateur cricket players to start up some staff cricket activity in the University.

Don't worry, we're not looking for you to know the difference between a googly, a flipper and a slider - we just want people who are up for playing a bit of social cricket in the British summer!

If you're interested, there is a meeting to discuss staff cricket so come along to share your ideas and show your support:

  • 1pm, Thursday 4 June, Wellbeing Room, Dover Street Building (number 70 on campus map)

"One thing I have missed since moving to Manchester in 2005 is playing friendlies for a staff cricket side. I think it would be great if the University could establish a social staff cricket team to play a few matches a year, I am hoping that there are others out there who agree!"

Tim Westlake (Director of Student Recruitment, Admissions & International
Development)
