Steven Cohen in 'Three Solos' and 'The Poof Downstairs' this weekend

The cover star of the Martin Harris Centre season brochure, Steven Cohen, makes his UK debut in the John Thaw Studio Theatre on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May, followed by the world premiere of The Poof Downstairs with Charles Millington, Patrizia Paolini and Jon Haynes on Sunday 17 and Monday 18 May. Part of the Queer Up North Festival 2009.

Steven Cohen - Three solos (UK Premiere)

Steven Cohen is South Africa's leading performance artist and has recently shown his work at the Pompidou, Paris, and Vienna's Kunsthalle. Now he makes his UK debut with a programme of provocative and highly visual pieces, each combining his trademark extraordinary costumes with an innovative use of live video and documentary film.

This production contains explicit imagery and is suitable for over 16s only.

The Poof Downstairs (WORLD PREMIERE)

With Charles Millington, Patrizia Paolini and Jon Haynes

An urban gay fairytale about ambition and frustrated desire, it is the ultimate feel-good play. Jon Haynes is one half of cult theatre duo Ridiculusmus.
