Access to personal study space on Blue Ground and Blue 1.

In January 2009, the Main Library will pilot 24 hour, 7-day-a-week opening. The building will open at 8am on 5 January, and remain open until 11.30pm on 30 January.

Access is for personal study space on Blue Ground and Blue 1.

Computing, printing and photocopying facilities will remain available, but there will be no access to areas or materials housed outside Blue Ground and Blue 1.

Outside of its usual service hours, the Library Lounge will remain open for self-service from the vending machines (you may, of course, bring your own refreshments).

For security reasons, access will be restricted to University of Manchester students and staff after 11.30pm and will be by the side door of the Main Library entrance using a valid University of Manchester ID ("swipe") card only. As there can be no exceptions, we recommend that you check before 11.30pm to make sure your card works in the ID ("swipe") card reader.
