Family Friendly Film Festival and Beijing Olympics week.

The Family Friendly Film Festival will be running at venues across Greater Manchester. Activities at the Museum will include First Flicks screenings for under 5s, featuring great short films from around the world.

Most screenings and activities are free, some may cost up to £5, All ages. For details, visit:

Night At The Museum (part of the Family Friendly Film Festival)
Monday 11 August, 5.30-10pm

Bring a picnic and wear your jammies (or dress as a dinosaur) for a new Family Friendly Film Festival experience, the Museum Pyjama Party! It's an exclusive opportunity to see the Museum after hours and join in some great activities. Find out about the Museum's T.rex Stan, make your own pop-up museum and dinosaur mask, take a spooky tour of the galleries to find out some of the secrets behind the objects, then join us at 7.15pm for a special screening of Night at the Museum. There will be a break for a picnic at 6.30pm, so remember to pack your favourite food and drinks to keep you going until 10pm, when you'll be all ready for bed!

Beijing Olympics week
Monday 11-Friday 15 August, 1-3pm

Make a Chinese seal, guess the Olympic sport and meet the Beijing Olympic mascots. Get up close to amazing objects relating to China and the Olympics. With the Confucius Institute and The University of Manchester.
