Sciencetastic Big Saturday on 15 March and Easter holiday activities.

Sciencetastic Big Saturday
Saturday 15 March, 11am - 4pm

Celebrate National Science and Engineering Week and Brain Awareness Week in Sciencetastic, a Big Saturday family fun day at The Manchester Museum on Saturday 15 March.

University of Manchester scientists, Stuart Allan and Ellen Poliakoff, will be exploring the brain through hands on activities including brain illusions and testing the senses through taste and touch, in What is your brain up to inside your head?

Other activities throughout the day will include a special guided tour Building stones of Manchester, exploring the geology of the building stones of Manchester. Science activities for younger visitors will involve the senses and will be taking place all afternoon. There will also be opportunities to extract DNA and learn about its structure and role in the cell, through a fascinating DNA extraction experiment.
