The Martin Harris Centre's current season is packed with a diverse range of exciting events. If you haven't already seen our new brochure, please pick one up from around the University or check out our website for full details.

Our season continues this week with The University of Manchester Baroque Orchestra and Ad Solem appearing in the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall on Wednesday 5 March and presenting pieces by Handel and Bach.

The University's internationally renowned resident string quartet - Quatuor Danel return for a FREE lunchtime concert on Thursday 6 March at 1.10pm with Haydn's Surise Quartet and Weinberg's Quartet No. 9. The Danels are back on Friday 7 March at 7pm with works by Mozart and Beethoven.

Saturday 8 March at 7pm brings the combined skills of The University of Manchester Wind Orchestra and Stockport Grammar School Wind Orchestra with works by local greats such as Martin Ellerby and Peter Meechan.

Our Literature Live season continues with two events in March - Hanif Kurieshi (SOLD OUT) on 6 March and Helen Dunmore and August Kleinzahler on 10 March.

Forthcoming events include a visit from the Lancashire Sinfonietta with Delights of The Danube on Friday 14 March at 7pm. The programme includes pieces by Mozart, Strauss and Bartok. Featuring sensational tenor, Alfie Boe and virtuoso violinist, Bradley Creswick, the Sinfonietta will take you on a journey of a lifetime, down the beautiful Blue Danube - not to be missed.

Looking further ahead, we have just announced details of the Quatuor Danel Open House weekend which is taking place Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June at the Martin Harris Centre.

This three day event is a fabulous music-making opportunity with the Quatuor Danel and Professor David Fanning coaching students and members of the public, directing sight-seeing sessions and taking part in informal concerts alongside those ensembles who wish to perform in public.
