Volunteer patients needed for Optometry exams.

Required on 8 and 9 January 2008.

Optometry, based in the Moffat building, are hosting external exams for past students in January and need a range of suitable volunteers to act as patients for these exams.

Contact lens wearers are required, BUT you must be pre-presbyopes (under 45) and have little or no astigmatism (less than 1 dioptre). If you wear lenses but are unsure if you qualify, you can obtain confirmation by e-mailing your lens details to:

We also require some presbyopes (over 45) for the routine eye examination. You must have a prescription of under +/-5 dioptre sphere, with less than 2 dioptre cyls. Again, if you are unsure and require more information: 

Lastly, we are looking for one or two people with anterior eye conditions such as cataract, kerataconus or corneal and lid conditions and volunteers with diabetic retinopathy.

Payment for attendance is £15.00 per half day and reasonable travel expenses are paid.
