Update

The source of the leak has been identified and isolated locally. The heating system has been reinstated and heat should be coming through to all buildings shortly.

The Arthur Lewis building will remain isolated. Facilities, Maintenance, and Compliance are looking to rectify this as quickly as possible, and building users will be updated separately on further developments.

Earlier message

Facilities Maintenance & Compliance are currently responding to a significant steam leak affecting heating across the west campus. As a result, heating is unavailable in buildings along the west side of Oxford Road, from AMBS to Ellen Wilkinson inclusive.

The steam system has been safely isolated while the team assesses the situation. At this time, heating is unlikely to be restored today, but every effort is being made to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We’ll continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
