Thank you from the Wood Street Mission.

11 Dec 2007

To everyone who donated to the Christmas Project 2007.

Jan O'Connor, Manager of the Wood Street Mission, has contacted the University to thank everyone who donated toys and gifts towards  the Christmas Project this year.

Last Christmas, Wood Street helped 1,682 families, with 3,664 local children each receiving a toy parcel. The families were also given a large food parcel to help them through the Christmas season.

Wood Street has continued to offer vital support to families throughout the year with clothing, bedding, small household items and baby equipment. The families accessing the service are referred to the Mission from all statutory services across the Manchester and Salford areas. This ensures your donations are being given to the people in most need.

This Christmas will be more challenging for the Wood Street Mission as refurbishment work means that only part of the building is currently in use. However, the Mission remains committed to helping as many local families this year as possible and your kind donations will be invaluable to help achieve this.

The Mission therefore thanks you once again for your continued support.
