Book your place at the Appeals, Complaints, Conduct and Discipline Network Conference
06 Jun 2025
The annual Appeals, Complaints, Conduct and Discipline (ACCD) Network Conference will take place on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, in the main lecture theatre of the Samuel Alexander Building.
This free half-day event is open to all colleagues involved in or interested in student casework, whether academic or professional services. We particularly encourage staff who support or advise students—especially around academic appeals or discipline processes—to attend.
What to expect
This year’s conference will be a more condensed version due to staff changes in the two divisions leading the ACCD Network: Student and Academic Services and Campus Life. The programme will run from 9.30am to approximately 1pm, with refreshments available from 9am in the foyer. There will also be a short mid-morning break.
The schedule includes
Six 30-minute presentations on key topics, including:
- Freedom of speech in the university context
- Meeting conditions of registration related to sexual misconduct
- Handling exam malpractice cases
- The role of Campus Support and Security
- A session led by the Students’ Union
- Additional topic to be confirmed
Please note: No lunch or afternoon workshops will be provided this year.
