North West Confucius Institute Dragon Boat Race

This year Manchester Confucius Institute will take part in the North West Confucius Institute Dragon Boat Race on Sunday, 8 June, at the Salford Quays Watersports Centre.

The event will take place between 01.00am and 5.00pm, with lunch provided. The Salford Quays Watersports Centre can be found at 15 The Quays, Salford, M50 3SQ.

We are inviting anyone who is interested in joining the team for the race. No experience is required but you need to be able to swim in light clothing competently for 50 meters.  

The race is managed by 4Dragons, an affiliated member of the governing body of the sport, the British Dragon Boat Racing Association, (BDA) and they have organised many races for us in the past.

It will be a fun day out!

Training day

We are also organising a training day in Manchester at Debdale Park (1073 Hyde Rd, Gorton, Manchester M18 7LJ) from 5pm to 7 pm on the 27th of May.

How to register

If you would like to join us for the practice session please email confucius@manchester.ac.uk no later than 12.00pm on Mondaty, 26 May.

If you would like to join for just the Race Day itself, please email before Thursday, 5 June. Further information will be sent to those who are registered nearer the time.
