Building Hope: helping to alleviate poverty in Ethiopia.

Charity fund-raising events in November.

Veronique Rizzuto, who works in the Teaching Learning and Assessment Office, helped to form the charity 'Building Hope' in 2005. Veronique is the Founder, Trustee and Treasurer of the charity which works to raise the standard of living in a poverty-stricken area of Dessie in Ethiopia. Veronique was voted Staff Volunteer of the Year in 2007.

Veronique is hosting a Body Shop Evening Party in aid of Building Hope on Monday 12 November at 7.30pm in Didsbury, Manchester. Ticket price £3. A great night out! To find out more or to buy a ticket please email Veronique at:

Veronique and some of the members of the charity will display the work of Building Hope on 8 November and 15 November between 12noon-2pm in the foyer of the Concourse Café. Building Hope will be launching the Gifts for Life for Christmas where you will be able to buy a gift for your friends and family which will be very special and will provide essential help for those most in need in Ethiopia. Christmas cards will also be on sale.
