Legal Advice Centre re-opens

13 Sep 2007

Find out more about the services on offer

The School of Law Legal Advice Centre (LAC) has now reopened and is currently taking requests for advice. Appointments are held with a qualified practitioner and two law students and are available Monday to Friday at 12.15pm and 1.15pm from 24 September through to 23 November.

At the discretion of the Centre Solicitor, the LAC offers free legal advice to members of the public, University staff and students on a wide range of matters in the strictest confidence. Advice is provided by student volunteers from the School of Law under the supervision of local lawyers and professionally qualified teaching staff. The advice offered is by letter, following an initial interview, and the time taken between interview and receipt of the approved advice letter will vary, depending on the complexity of the issue, but a two week period is aimed for.

If for any reason we are unable to provide advice ourselves, we will endeavor to direct you to an alternative source. Please note that we are not in a position to provide advice on any matter which relates to the University.

You can contact the LAC in any of the following ways:-
