Communication Matters - Next session

03 Jul 2007

Workshop on 18 July examining male and female language differences

The next session in the 'Communications Matters' series of internal communications workshops is due to take place on Wednesday 18 July and is entitled 'Male and female language at work - are there differences and do they matter?'

The workshop will be led by Professor Katharine Perera, who is heading up the Women in Leadership project here at the University. The session will look at the subtle differences in the ways men and women use language and how these differences can lead to misunderstandings in the workplace. Katharine will offer some useful advice on how to adopt different styles of communication according to the audience you are dealing with.

The session will start at 12 noon and will take place at the STDU in the Humanities Bridgeford Street building.

This workshop is open to any member of staff at the University, however places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The 'Communications Matters' series of workshops has been launched to help staff improve their communication skills. A variety of topics will be covered over the coming months, all aimed at giving you useful hints and tips which you should be able to implement in your everyday work.

The sessions are being organised by the STDU working in partnership with the University's Internal Communications Office.
