Victorious Academies Trust: Non Executive Director/Trustee/Governor opportunity

31 May 2022

The Victorious Academies Trust is looking to strengthen their Board

Victorious Academies is a multi-academy trust established in January 2018 and based in Tameside, developing a hub of excellence to support nine primary schools across Tameside and Derbyshire (High Peaks), with a new school anticipated to join in autumn 2022 and further interest from local schools.

Their Board of Trustees cover the following responsibilities: leadership, educational improvement, finance, business, HR and data handling and they are looking for additional Trustees to supplement their existing Board. They are keen to hear from individuals with estates management, marketing or PR experience but would like to hear from you if you are interested and feel you can help support their community.

The Trustees are ambitious and their vision is to create a sustainable multi-academy trust, based initially in the north-west from Tameside.  To include a cluster of academies, growing to 10+ primary schools and up to 5,000 pupils, where school to school collaboration is championed.  Their ambition is to develop an additional cluster of academies when an opportunity arises.

The Trustees meet four times a year and their Trust committees (Finance, Business and Audit and Achievement and Improvement) meet three times a year.  Each Trustee would expect to attend up to seven meetings a year, all in school term time.  Most meetings take place virtually via Teams.  Some meetings may be held in person at Inspire Academy, OL6 9RU.

The schools are based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Glossop, Hattersley and Stalybridge.  Each school sets its own meetings annually but generally these are in-person at the school with between six – nine meetings per academic year.
