University ranked in top 5 for digital engagement in the 2021/22 academic year

Our University has been ranked fifth for digital engagement and online presence by the independent edurank table

The latest dashboard (sign up required) ranks Manchester against 211 university and education providers in the UK and Ireland, with Oxford and Cambridge among the leaders. In the 2020/21 academic year, our University was ranked 11th.
Highlights include:
- Improved performance on YouTube as a result of consistent posting schedule during graduation, with live streaming contributing to increased views and engagement (comments, likes, shares).
- Engagements totalling almost 40,000 - 28% above sector benchmarks - with an increase of 52% from the preview month.
Our main social media channels engage across multiple audiences and have a combined audience of over 850,000 followers/fans. They are managed by the digital communications team based within the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment.
