Relay for Life: an inspirational community event on 21/22 April

10 Apr 2007

Celebrate the lives of people touched by cancer and raise money for vital cancer research

Cancer Research UK (CRUK) will be holding a Relay for Life event at the Armitage Centre on 21 and 22 April. This will be the second Relay to take place at a UK university.

Relay for Life is a community event to celebrate the lives of people touched by cancer and raise vital money for research into the disease. Frighteningly, one in three people will develop cancer, and one in four people will die from it.

The event at the Armitage Centre has been organised by students at the University with support from Manchester Student Volunteers.

If you would like to enter a Relay team for the event, please visit the website for details:

The deadline to enter a team is Wednesday 18 April.

If you would like to participate, but not as part of a relay team, please come along on the day to show your support for your colleagues and students who are participating. There will a range of fun activities, refreshments and music for you to enjoy, whilst helping raise awareness of cancer and raise funds for the charity.

If you would like to sponsor the Staff Team who will be participating on behalf of the University's employees, please visit:
