As part of the commencement of construction of the new Christabel Pankhurst Institute hub, located behind the former Natwest Building on the Oxford Road, a one-way system will be implemented on Dover Street between Portsmouth Street and Oxford Road on Tuesday, 1 June.

Vehicles will only be able to travel west (towards Oxford Road) on this section of Dover Street for the duration of the project. Appropriate diversion routes will be in place.

The development will provide a collaborative hub for the Christabel Pankhurst Institute, creating a focal point for health technology, research and innovation. The Institute will exploit the University’s strengths in advanced materials, digital technology and precision medicine to drive health benefit, business growth, productivity-gain and employment in Greater Manchester (GM), filling a critical gap in the GM health innovation ecosystem.

We expect the building to be completed in Spring 2022.
