Gender Equality Scheme consultation

14 Mar 2007

Review the Scheme online and give your comments

The University began to develop its Gender Equality Scheme last year and invited staff members and students to get involved in:

  • identifying enablers and barriers to gender equality;
  • prioritising functions, policies and procedures for impact assessment;
  • developing key actions to be addressed within the Scheme Action Plan.

The Scheme has now been developed and is open for consultation until Wednesday 28 March.  It will be published in April.

Associate Vice-President (Equality and Diversity) Professor Esmail said, "the University is committed to gender equality, aiming to go beyond mere compliance with legislation so that all staff and students are able to achieve their full potential.  People frequently say changing the culture of an organisation is difficult and takes time, it does.  This is your opportunity to work with us and help drive forward that culture change".
