Director of IT Services

26 Jan 2021

Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Claire Priestley will be unable to join our University as Director of IT Services.

Claire had been due to join at the beginning of March from City, University of London.

“It is with great regret that I am unable to join Manchester as I had hoped,” said Claire.  “This is due to entirely personal reasons which have arisen subsequent to the appointment process. I am hugely appreciative of the warmth and opportunity extended by Patrick and senior colleagues at the University, and I was really looking forward to working with the clearly talented teams in IT Services.”

Patrick Hackett, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are obviously extremely disappointed but wish Claire well for the future. I am delighted that Angus Hearmon has agreed to continue as Director of ITS for the next 12 months to build on the excellent progress that he has already made, whilst we consider our next steps towards recruiting a new Director.”

Angus added: “Colleagues across IT Services have been working hard to develop and deliver plans which move us towards a better future, giving us clear direction to deliver IT services which meet the needs of the University, our staff and students.

“I am committed to moving those plans forward in partnership with IT Services colleagues. There is a lot to do and as with all change it will take time for the improvements to be visible, but I am already seeing a positive impact on our initial areas of focus.”
