Call for new Athena SWAN national panel chair and reviewer roles

15 Jan 2021

Our University has been a member of the national Athena SWAN Charter to support and transform gender equality in higher education and research since 2008

Advance HE, the body which manages Athena SWAN, is currently undergoing a large-scale review of the Charter's systems and processes. Advance HE will continue to grant Athena SWAN award recognition of progress, through the use of review panels made up of representatives from the sector. However, to support the Charter developments, Advance HE has revised the panel Terms of Reference and the roles of Chair and Reviewer.

The call for expressions of interest for these revised roles is now open and will close at 12pm Monday, 22 February 2021. Interviews for Chair roles will be held on 11, 12 or 15 March 2021; reviewer applicants will be asked to take part in a selection exercise later in March.

We strongly encourage colleagues to support the progress of gender equality in higher education and research through participation in national panels. Panels members can be from any area of the University, whether academic or PS; based in faculties, central directorates or specialist institutes; of all genders and ethnicities.
