Support for preparing online teaching during lockdown

12 Jan 2021

A reminder of what’s available to support colleagues in preparing online teaching content during the national lockdown

Extensive advice on online teaching is available on the Institute of Teaching and Learning website, including access to TALON (Teaching and Learning Online Network) Yammer group and a range of toolkits and resources.

Whilst staff are advised not to come to campus, if you need to record online teaching and do not have the facilities to do this from home, a number of spaces will continue to be available in University Place for this purpose. Staff should not use on-campus offices or other spaces to do this.

If staff require a space to record their teaching, they should visit Resource Booker where they can book a CTS teaching room in University Place using the booking tile 'Podcast and Video Recording'. Rooms must be booked at least 24 hours in advance, and if staff wish to use lecture capture they will need to turn this on manually using the podcast scheduling tool.

We would encourage staff who want to make use of this facility to make their bookings as soon as possible so we can monitor demand and ensure adequate staff resources are available for cleaning and Media Services support.

If you have a query about booking a space to record your teaching, please contact timetabling@manchester.ac.uk.
