The Family Arts Campaign has announced the shortlist of arts events, organisations and destinations that have delighted families, in their Fantastic for Families Awards 2020.

At a time when Covid-19 has imposed significant limitations on the arts and cultural sector, the Fantastic for Families Awards celebrate the wealth of excellent creative events and spaces for families across the UK. These organisations are recognised for the outstanding experiences and contribution to family-friendly arts and culture they provided for families in 2019.

The Manchester Museum has been shortlisted in the Audience Impact Award category - recognising creative organisations who are overcoming barriers to reach and engage new and diverse families in order to develop and deepen engagement in their area.

The 30 shortlisted organisations will now have their nominations reviewed by a panel of expert judges from the creative sector, who will decide which of them will be named winner in one of four categories.

Darren Henley, Chief Executive of Arts Council England said: “We know just how much of a difference creativity and culture makes in helping young people to be happier and healthier, so it’s really important that we celebrate and share the really outstanding work that’s going on around the country to help create better lives for the next generation.”

The winners will be announced on 9 September 2020.
