Course content and copyright: reminder to teaching staff

08 Jul 2020

Important information for ensuring your teaching materials comply with copyright legislation

Blended learning

The Institute of Teaching and Learning and the University Library would like to remind staff preparing blended teaching methods for the next academic year of the following points and sources of support:

  • When building your online content it’s essential that you source appropriately licensed material. The Library's webpages offer a range of copyright support
  • It’s also important to note that converting pre-existing materials, e.g. lectures to other formats, can become a time-consuming process, so it’s something to be thinking about even before getting to grips with the technology.
  • If anything seems in a grey area or confusing, you can contact specialist support from within the Library through the Ask an expert function.
  • The Library can also often advise on various image libraries.
