University shortlisted for Chartered Institute of PR Excellence Awards

We are delighted to share the news that The University of Manchester has been shortlisted in the Chartered Institute of PR Excellence Awards - in the category Employee Experience or Engagement Campaign - for Our Future, the campaign which launched our new vision and strategic plan.

The six week campaign was a cross-division effort with the internal communications, design and content teams in the Division of Communications and Marketing working closely with the Planning team. Colleagues were encouraged to get involved in a conversation and generate ‘Big Ideas’ to address the opportunities and challenges higher education and our University will face 20-30 years in the future.

The annual Chartered Institute of PR Excellence Awards recognise and reward the work of hundreds of PR agencies, teams and organisations, and saw us competing against some of the country’s biggest brands.

Claire Brown, Interim Director of Communications and Marketing, said: “We’re very pleased to be shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of PR Excellence Awards.

"It is in recognition of the scale of the effort that went into making Our Future a success. Over 4,000 staff members contributed to the project, so to be acknowledged on a national scale is a great achievement”.

In this Viewpoint blog, Matt Atkin, Director of Planning, shares his experience of developing the Our Future plan and how we’re bringing it to life.
